Information Referral Coordinator

Information Referral Coordinator

The Coordinator in Windsor and Leamington is Kelly Christian.  Kelly has a keen interest in helping family law clients navigate the legal system.  She wants to help you find the services you need, from legal advice to programs that will help you during this difficult time.

Kelly is located:

Superior Court of Justice, 245 Windsor Avenue

Tuesday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Wednesday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ontario Court of Justice, 200 Chatham Street

Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

She can see clients from either courthouse or from the public at any time.  There is no need to make an appointment.

Kelly also attends court in Leamington on the 3rd Wednesday of every month from 9 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m., or until Court is completed for that day.

How can they help?

Our Coordinators can assist you with

 

  •  information on issues related to separation and divorce and child protection matters, including information about mediation, collaborative family law, arbitration, family group conferencing and local community resources;

 

  • Helping to determine needs and making referrals to available community resources that address those needs;

 

  • Promoting the use of non-adversarial resolution options in appropriate cases, and providing clients with information about local non-adversarial resources (including the court-connected mediation program);

 

  • Identifying high risk cases and supporting clients who need emergency assistance with legal and non-legal resources;

 

  • Referring clients with urgent legal needs to advice counsel or duty counsel;

 

  • Facilitating MIP registrations for interested clients who have not yet begun court proceedings;

  

  • Maintaining a current list of FLIC resources and making those resources available to FLIC clients;

 

  • Providing referrals to clients for separation related programs that are available in the community including programs that are available for children
